Strawberry Hill After Dark: Halloween Magic Lantern Show
Strawberry Hill After Dark: Halloween Magic Lantern Show - Friday 30th October
Arrival from 5pm (show at 5.45pm) or 7pm (show at 7.45pm)
Spend Halloween Eve inside the birthplace of Gothic fiction!
Explore Strawberry Hill House after dark, before taking your seat in the spectacular surroundings of the famous Long Gallery for a live performance by legendary magic lanternists Jeremy and Carolyn Brooker. Experience the thrills of that most Gothic of entertainments, the Phantasmagoria, in all its ghostly glory. Expect goblins, ghouls and all manner of strange goings on. A perfect curtain raiser for the Halloween season.
The performance will feature an authentic triunial, or triple, magic lantern from the 1890s, which combines three projectors in a single device. The rarest and most complex form of magic lantern entertainment, it allows images to dissolve, transform and move in quick succession, creating some of the most spectacular effects the lantern can produce.
Standard ticket: £25
Member ticket: £20
